Location close to several metro stations and the main sights and the Drum Tower, cafes, restaurants, and several metro stations. Lovely building and rooms exactly like in the pictures...

the superior double room we stayed in were great little exactly like in the pictures. it was nice having climate control, a private safe and multi-channel tv. the service was absolutely excellent.

The staff were exceptional, providing helpful assistance and creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The rooms were clean and well-equipped, with attention to detail such as complimentary drinking water. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep.

The hotel is situated in a well-connected location with easy access to the metro station. You can find a variety of restaurants and bars down the street. The hotel has comfortable rooms with excellent heating facilities that are perfect for a chilly winter stay. The staff is friendly and always willing to help out with any requirements.

The hotel may not be suited for elderly people as some guests faced difficulty with steep steps in their rooms.

The hotel was on the pricier side compared to other lodging options we found during our trip, although we tolerated it. the WiFi reception was somewhat spotty in the hotel room.

We stayed at a lovely hotel tucked away in the Hutong precinct. The location was perfect, very close to the Drum Tower and a subway station. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The staff was extremely helpful and spoke very good English. They even helped us hire a van for the airport. The hotel was clean and well-designed. We really enjoyed exploring the old neighborhood and experiencing the real Chinese life.

The area outside the hotel was a bit old and traditional, but it felt safe with cameras all around the street.

We loved staying here! The hotel was very comfortable and clean with great facilities. It was really close to the subway entrance, making it easy to explore this city. Additionally, the hotel was only a short distance from the drum tower. The staff were also incredibly friendly and helpful.

The rooms were modern and provided good value for money, with a powerful air conditioning system, and a well-lit living space. there were clean bathrooms with toiletries and modern amenities in the room.

The communal areas had single glazing, causing water to drip onto the floor from the roof, which became a little problematic. it was hard to locate the hotel in the back alley, and there were no complementary comforts like coffee, just bottled water, which felt inadequate.

The 161 Drum Tower Hotel was a great value for money in a truly authentic Chinese area. We loved the modern rooms with powerful air conditioning and good lighting. The clean, modern bathroom with toiletries was a nice touch. The hotel is conveniently located close to the subway station in the non-touristy Gulou area.
